Wherry Lines Walks: Somerleyton

Getting Started

Catch the train from Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and any stop along the Wherry Line to Somerleyton Station, NR32 5QN, to begin this challenging Norfolk Trails walk.

This Route

Head through the village of Somerleyton and then past the impressive Somerleyton Hall following the long distance walking trail, Angles Way. Continue following the Angles Way to St Mary’s church, Ashby, a fine example of a round tower church. The ruins of Somerleyton Brickfields are also well worth investigating.
There are stiles, kissing gates and one steep hill on the walk. There is a shop, tea room and post office in Somerleyton village. Refreshments and facilities are available at the Maid Inn in Lound and Dukes Head in Somerleyton.
