Haunted Bungay Walk
For the third and final instalment of spooky walks, we have hopped over the border and have teamed up with Weird Suffolk to bring you The Haunted Bungay Walk. With people living here for centuries, the extraordinary Broads National Park is abundant in history and oozing with ghost stories and we are dying to share them with you. In this walk, discover tales of farting ghosts, spectral coaches and the legend of the Black Shuck.

There are a number of other walks around Bungay and if you are looking for something a bit more challenging, why not try the 5.5 mile Bigod Way. This walk takes you on a longer route around Outney Common along the banks of the River Waveney and is an ideal opportunity to spot wildlife such as birds of prey, Kingfishers or even otters. The walk takes a similar route around Bungay so you can still read the stories as you go.
*Reminder* In the Autumn season, the nights draw in much earlier so be sure to give yourself plenty of time, you don’t want to stuck in the marshes in the dark, who knows what’s out there! This season also brings colder weather and muddier walking conditions. Be prepared before you venture out, dress appropriately, take suitable provisions and a route map with you. If you do not have a mobile phone to hand, let someone know where you are going. Be respectful of wildlife, take care around livestock and take your litter home with you. If in doubt follow the Countryside Code.
